Overview

The Garden of Memory serves as a solemn tribute to Australian and Allied ex-service men and women who served in wartime. Key details include:

  • Purpose: To commemorate those who served in various conflicts involving Australia.

  • Features: Includes a marble Cross of Sacrifice and eight war graves.

    • Established during World War II.

    • Originally managed by the Australian War Graves Commission.

    • After 1945, management was transferred to local RSL Sub-Branches, who formed a Trustee Committee to develop it as a War Memorial Cemetery.

    • Any Australian ex-service man or woman who served in full-time wartime service.
